Standard Assessment Tests, otherwise known as SATs, are tests taken by children in Year 2 and Year 6 during the Summer term. Children in Year 2 do two maths tests - Arithmetic and Reasoning and two Reading tests. These tests are marked internally, and the results of these tests are used to support teacher assessment judgments.
Children in Year 6 do three maths tests - Arithmetic, Reasoning 1 and Reasoning 2, a Reading test, a Spelling test and a Grammar and Punctuation test. These tests are sent away to be marked.
